Network Configuration
The Network of the
SJB(Smart Junction Box) consists of Low speed CAN as shown in the
following figure.

Termination Resistor
The SJB has CAN
termination resistor. It is possible that CAN termination resistor value
is changed by number of CAN controller. The termination resistor value of
the SJB is 510 Ω.
Function Requirements
The BCM controls IPS and
relay on the SJB. For example, if BCM requests head lamp low beam control,
then BCM requests related lamp control at one time.

This chapter defines
signal between SJB and peripheral electrical apparatus in the form of

Function Definition

Turn Signal
Function Definition

| 1. |
Turn Signal by ‘ Turn Signal Lh switch’ and ‘
Turn Signal Rh switch’ works during ‘Ign1=ON’ or ‘
IGN2=ON’. |
| 2. |
Lane Change function (3 times blinking) works
when ‘ON time’ of ‘Turn signal left switch’ or ‘Turn signal right
switch’ is shorter than 1.8sec. During double blinking, it blinks 4
times. |
| 3. |
Lane change function would be immediately
stopped when opposite direction switch or ‘ Hazard switch’ is
ON. |
| 4. |
Hazard function by ‘HAZARD from BCM’ has
priority to Switch input. |
| 5. |
Diagnosis for ‘Open Load’ and ‘Short to GND’
should be applied to each load during operation when ‘Ign1=ON’ or ‘
IGN2=ON’. |
| 6. |
During ‘ Turn Signal Lh switch = ON’ or ‘ Turn
Signal Rh switch = ON’, Double blinking function starts even 1 load
is ‘Open Load’ condition. |
| 7. |
When ‘Short to GND’ is detected, power supply
to the related load would be
stopped. |
| 8. |
When ‘Open Load’ or ‘Short to Ground’ is
detected, this diagnosis condition would be kept before one of ‘
Ign1=OFF’, ‘ IGN2=OFF’ or ‘ Turn Sigma; Lh switch = OFF’, ‘ Turn
Signal Rh switch = OFF’ and ‘ Hazard switch = OFF’ is
set. |
| 9. |
Normal Blinking Period: 85±10 period/min (duty
50%±5%) |
| 10. |
Double Blinking Period: 157±10 period/min
(duty 50%±5%). (But, initial blinking is normal
blinking) |
Blinking
| - |
CAN message controls turn signal blinking
until ‘ HAZARD from BCM = INACTIVE’. ON/OFF Period and Duty ratio
are set by BCM. |
| - |
Blinking period by ‘Hazard Switch’ and ‘Turn
Signal Lever Switch’ would be affected by turn signal diagnosis.
|
| - |
Blinking by CAN message has priority to
blinking by ‘Hazard Switch’ and ‘Turn Signal Lever
Switch’ |
| - |
Blinking by switch should be stopped
immediately and blinking would be controlled by CAN if ‘ HAZARD from
BCM = ON/OFF’ until ‘ HAZARD from BCM = INACTIVE’.
|
| - |
Blinking is repetitive on/off control of turn
signal with 50±5% duty ratio.

|
| - |
Blinking Period is as follows.
Normal Blinking
Period : 85±10period/min, duty 50%±5%
Double Blinking
Period : 157±10period/min, duty
50%±5% |
| - |
Double blinking by ‘open load’ during normal
blinking starts from next period until double blinking condition is
cancelled. |

|
Turn Signal Function By CAN
| - |
CAN controls Turn Signal Lamp when RKE
Lock/Unlock, Panic, Alarm work. |
| - |
CAN has priority to other turn signal controls
apart from Ignition condition. |
| - |
When hazard from BCM is delivered, all Turn
Signal Lamp control should be stopped immediately and needs to
follow CAN message. |
| - |
Hazard from BCM controls all turn signal
lamps. |
| - |
All turn signal lamps are turned off when
‘Hazard from BCM = Inactive or OFF’. But inactive means that there’s
no more control from BCM not switch.
|
| - |
When CAN fails, Hazard from BCM should be
inactive. |
